CLIMATE OF MENDOZA

Arid and continental climate, the temperatures present an important annual oscillation and the rainfalls are scanty. The summer is hot and humid and the average temperatures are over the 25 °C. The winter is cold and dry, with average temperatures below the 8 °C, night occasional frosts and scanty rainfalls ( 200 mm per year).

CLIMATE OF ACONCAGUA

The climate changes between moments of sun and wind absences, with strong blasts and snowy rainfalls. This ambiguity in the climatic factors, has diverse reasons. The humid currents from the Pacific Ocean, located in the eastern part, climb on having hit with the mass of mountains, getting down the temperature and dismissing the dampness in character of snow in the heights. Consecutivly these already dry concentrations of air, fall down on the oriental sides of the mountain chain warming up progressively.

In occasions they blow of powerful winds of the west, which affect the high part of the mountain from 5.000 meters and which in summer epochs the night temperatures (still with good time) are in the habit of being about them- 20ºC. On 6.500 meters they descend to- 31ºC.

With the presence of airs from the south or evil time, in the camps base there can be registered temperatures of- 20ºC and- 27ºC in summit.
